Yamanashi's doll festival is on April 3rd. Because peach production area, peach festival is done in the lunar calendar, when peach blossoms bloom.
I visited today a licorice mansion located in front of the Chuo Line Shioyama station. This is the house of the master who cultivated the medicinal herb "licorice", receiving the life of the shogunate in the Edo period.



It is said that this fine building that is also designated as an important cultural property was built about 200 years ago. It was an appearance with a sense of dignity that made me a bit stunned.
In Koshu City, we organize an event called "doll decoration and peach flower festival" every year with this licorice residence as the main venue.



It is a festival for decorating the chicks in various places in the city and having tourists enjoy the spring peach home town.
On the licorice residence there were more than 5 thousand dolls and hanging chicks decorated in places, some of them had 300 years old dolls.





It seems that it is a style doll which was popular in the Kyoh period. I can see my feet from the hem of a male chicks kimono. It is interesting. The eyes of a cut to a plump outline. If this facial is beautiful 300 years ago, I wanted to be born 300 years ago.
Many dolls were arranged every era to feel the trend of the trend.
A lot of hanging chicks hanging from overhead are not old, it seems to be a work by local lovers. It includes a love affair for a child, such as not being troubled by money or money in each form. It seems that it was said that people who were poor and could not buy chicks were made by handicrafts long ago.
