Mr. Tanaka of our village

It looks like a lovely home that pops out of a picture book. This is the former Tanaka Bank Museum located in Katsunuma-cho. In Yamanashi Prefecture there are a lot of such high-color buildings as Shiro Fujimura encouraged Western-style building at the beginning of the Meiji era.
Built about 120 years ago from now, it was originally used as a postal telecommunications station. The one who made it is the director and eleven people Tanaka who was also the village chief. When I entered the Taisho era, his sons launched "Tanaka Bank" and I am surprised to say that I made banks here. Like a grocery store and a fish shop, you can make a bank.

There is a brick-made safe in the backyard. They kept cash in this, and they were doing business such as deposits and loans. Sometimes it seemed that villagers came to borrow money with cocoon bowl or grape as collateral, Mr. Tanaka was quite a wealthy man.

There was an exhibit that indoors the lives of old people as indoor museums.
And toilet is a must. I can not see beautiful pottery urinal.

This is the second floor residence that is said to have evacuated the officials of the Imperial family during the Second World War.

Attention also to the outside fence. Do you understand the secret character of Tanaka Tanaka Tanaka?
It is a small building that seems to pass over by car, but it is a spot full of highlights. Although visits are free, they are not open everyday, so please take care.
